Hey, you.

Welcome to my blog. I document my adventures in DIY, travel, style, and of course - food. Now, let's have some fun.

Last year, my husband Cam and I got married, decided to save money and traveled to Seattle and Portland for our honeymoon (instead of spending extra dollars going out of the country.) And it was perfect. We stayed in awesome Airbnbs, ate lots of food, wandered to places we've never been, walked our butts off and did I mention we ate lots of food? This past month, I have been reminiscing about our honeymoon and thinking about the amazing places we visited, so I had to share. Here are 8 of my favorite places we visited in Portland, Oregon (Seattle coming soon.)

1. Multnomah Falls

Before we explored the city, we had to take a detour to this beautiful place. If you're planning on visiting, we parked across the street and walked over. Make sure you where shoes that are good with snow and ice - it definitely got a bit slippery and I wasn't prepared haha.

2. Screen Door

Southern cuisine in the morning? Yes, please! Expect a wait, but this place is adorable. And the food is so f**king delicious I don't even know how to describe it in words. Just look at this picture of the Screen Door Praline Bacon and you will begin to understand.

3. Voodoo Doughnut

Looking for a cooky, sugary donut? Voodoo Doughnut is the place to go. There was a line outside the door and it was worth the wait. The place looks just as wacky inside as it's donuts look on the outside. Like the sign says, good things do come in pink boxes.

4. Pine Street Market

After we got some doughnuts, we wandered down the street and found Pine Street Market, the city's first food hall. I've been to a few food halls and let me tell you - it's the best one yet. I do need to apologize before I continue because I didn't take any pictures. My phone was living life on the edge and I was starving. Anyways... I highly recommend Marukin Ramen and Pollo Bravo. I'm not a huge salad fan and Pollo Bravo's Radicchio Salad is to die for.

5. Tasty n Alder

I know I've talked about waiting for food a couple times, but this place was an hour and a half wait. The cool thing is they called Cam's cell phone, so we could wander for a bit. By the time we sat down, the restaurant began clearing out for it's dinner crowd, but that didn't upset us at all. It was so peaceful to sit in this beautiful restaurant and eat incredible food.

6. Portland Japanese Garden

After eating lots of food, Cam and I love to walk it off and Portland's Japanese Garden is the perfect place to explore.

7. Bollywood Theater

Cam and I chose to visit the restaurant location on SE Division. It was conveniently located near our Airbnb and perfect for dinner. The space feels like you are transported somewhere in India - eating off of a steel plate and drinking out of a steel cup. And if you like Indian food, then you're in for a treat.

8. Salt & Straw

I saved the best for last - Salt & Straw. I made Cam walk here two nights in a row because I had to have a scoop of their Honey Lavender ice cream. It is heaven on a cone! (Again, I apologize for no images. It was dark/nighttime and too delicious to wait for the photo.)
